India fast bowler Mohammed Siraj hosted Mohammed Shami, Mukesh Kumar, Akash Deep and other members of the Bengal team at his restaurant in Hyderabad. The players are in the city ahead of their Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) fixture against Puducherry on 6 December.
Ahead of the game, members of the Bengal team bonded over dinner at Siraj’s restaurant. Mohammed Shami shared photographs from the meet-up on his social media handles and expressed his gratitude to Siraj for hosting them.
“Mohammad Siraj inviting Me and other teammates to his restaurant was be a fantastic way to strengthen their camaraderie. We enjoy a nice meal together, share some laughs, and bond over their experiences on and off the field. Thanks for very good hospitality @mohammedsirajofficial,” wrote Shami in caption.
Siraj has only featured in one match of the ongoing season in SMAT and picked up 1/15 in four overs as Hyderabad won by three wickets against Uttar Pradesh. The right-arm seamer is not a part of the India squad for the ongoing three-match ODI series against South Africa, having been rested after the two-match Test series against the same opposition.
On the other hand, Mohammed Shami recently bowled a magnificent spell against Services, claiming 4/13 in 3.2 overs. The right-arm speedster has taken nine wickets in the tournament so far from five matches at an average of 19.44 with best figures of 4/13. Shami continues to work hard in domestic cricket, having last played for India in the Champions Trophy 2025.
Meanwhile, Bengal are at the top of the Elite Group C table with four wins from five matches with 16 points to their name. On the other hand, Hyderabad are on the top of the Elite Group B table with 16 points from five matches as well. They will take on Bihar in their next fixture in Jadavpur.
