Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani said that the group will bring down the cost of artificial intelligence (AI) in a manner similar to mobile data. The Reliance Group’s venture Jio along with RIL plans to invest Rs 10 lakh cr over the next 7 years starting this year, Mukesh Ambani said at the AI Impact Summit.Ambani said that the best of AI is ‘yet to come’ and its advent will not ‘kill work’. “The world is debating whether AI will concentrate power in the hands of a few, or will it democratise opportunity for all ….the best of AI is yet to come. AI can usher in an era of super abundance,” Ambani said according to a PTI report.

At the India AI Impact Summit on Thursday, Ambani also said that artificial intelligence will transform the employment landscape by generating new, specialised roles rather than causing widespread job losses.“We will prove that AI will not take away jobs. Rather, it will create new high-skill work opportunities,” Ambani said.Speaking to attendees, Ambani conveyed optimism that AI would broaden economic prospects instead of diminishing them. He maintained that fears surrounding large-scale job losses are misplaced, stressing that emerging technologies typically give rise to fresh avenues of skilled work.According to him, although technological disruptions often spark anxiety about shrinking payrolls, AI is capable of creating entirely new job segments, boosting efficiency, and fostering innovation across multiple industries.Ambani noted that India’s vast reservoir of skilled professionals and its expanding digital backbone place the country in a strong position to leverage AI for inclusive development and sustained economic progress. He said that Reliance and Jio intend to collaborate extensively with Indian businesses, startups, IITs, and research institutions to hasten AI integration.Ambani said the company’s strategy will centre on offering AI solutions that are scalable, dependable and cost-effective. He pointed to the high expense of computing power and limited infrastructure availability as the primary obstacles currently hindering AI expansion. To overcome these challenges, he explained that Jio Intelligence will establish a sovereign computing framework for India through three key measures, starting with the creation of gigawatt-scale data centres.Construction activity has already begun in Jamnagar, he noted. Ambani also emphasised the need for enhanced international collaboration in advancing AI.
