Naagin 7: Fans troll the dragon face off scene; Netizens ask to stop misusing AI

The much talked about dragon face off sequence in Naagin 7 has sparked intense criticism online, with several viewers expressing disappointment over the heavy use of artificial intelligence and visual effects. The scene, which was promoted as a major turning point in the supernatural drama, instead left many fans unimpressed, calling the execution rushed and visually unconvincing.

Priyanka Chahar Choudhary`s recent onscreen battle

In the episode, Priyanka Chahar Choudhary’s Naagin confronts a fire breathing dragon in what was meant to be a grand cinematic battle. The sequence shows her transforming into her serpent form, attacking the creature with supernatural powers and ultimately defeating it. However, social media users were quick to point out that the visuals appeared artificial and lacked emotional depth.

One viewer commented, “Extensive AI, very little screen space for Priyanka actually becoming Naagin, the hyped dragon fight ended in just two minutes. The villain looked like a cartoon and had zero character arc. Actors are working extremely hard to carry the show.” Another viewer wrote, “Dragon and Naagin fight scene was completely random and poorly executed. The only reason people are watching is because of the main leads. The story has potential but the VFX and screenplay are disappointing.”

Netizens react to the AI battle

Several fans directly addressed producer Ekta Kapoor, urging her to reconsider the creative approach. A comment read, “Please do not use AI for anything related to Naagin. It just does not look good on screen.” Another added, “Dear Ekta Kapoor maam, please stop misusing AI and keep things natural. It breaks the immersive experience of the show.”

Many viewers also felt the dragon storyline ended too abruptly. “The Naagin versus dragon battle felt fake and the main villain was defeated way too quickly. The execution does not match the writers’ vision,” one user wrote. Others echoed similar sentiments, stating that while the concept was ambitious, the final output lacked impact.

Despite the criticism, fans continued to praise the performances of the cast, particularly Priyanka Chahar Choudhary, noting that the actors were doing their best within the limitations of the visual treatment. The Naagin franchise, known for its fantasy driven narratives and bold concepts, has previously pushed creative boundaries on Indian television.

Naagin 7 premiered in December and features Priyanka Chahar Choudhary and Namik Paul in lead roles, along with Eisha Singh, Alice Kaushik and Karan Kundrra. While the show continues to trend online, the dragon face off episode has ignited a larger debate on the responsible use of AI and VFX in television storytelling.
