Nana Patekar reviews Ranbir Kapoor starrer 'Animal'; says 'Only Anil Kapoor’s performance in the film was restrained'

Nana Patekar recently shared his views on Sandeep Reddy Vanga‘s Animal starring Ranbir Kapoor and praised Anil Kapoor‘s performance in the movie.
While promoting his upcoming film Vanvaas, Nana sat down for an interview with Anil. He shared that he was initially reluctant to watch Animal, but was eventually convinced by friends who praised Anil’s performance. Nana mentioned that Anil’s acting stood out as more restrained compared to the others in the film.

In a press conference in Hyderabad, Anil mentioned that both he and Ranbir drew from personal experiences to portray their characters in Animal. He also praised the film’s director, Sandeep Reddy Vanga, for his casting choices, particularly casting them as father and son. Anil spoke about his close relationship with Ranbir’s father, noting that their families have been connected for over 60 years. He also highlighted that their shared resemblance worked well for their roles in the film.

Animal was one of the most talked-about films of 2023, starring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead. The film centers around a son seeking revenge for an attack on his father, portrayed by Anil Kapoor. However, it faced criticism from some viewers who felt it glorified toxic masculinity and violent behavior.
