The elections saw the fall of the old political protectors in Nepal.

  1. RSP president Ravi Lamichhane won the Chitwan-2 seat with 54,402 votes, defeating Meena Kumari Kharel of Nepali Congress, who secured 14,564 votes.
  2. Former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ of NCP won from Rukum Purba by securing 10,240 votes, while Leelamani Gautam of CPN-UML won with 3,462 votes.
