Urban mobility in Bengaluru increasingly depends on how well different modes of public transport connect with each other. As metro ridership has been increasing, the focus has gradually shifted to the last mile journey, especially in neighborhoods where reaching the station remains a daily challenge.

Bus feeder services play an important role in bridging this gap, especially for commuters who depend on end-to-end public transport. In this context, BMTC has announced the launch of a new metro feeder route in East Bengaluru.

BMTC introduces new metro feeder route MF-10B from December 22

For the benefit of passengers, BMTC has introduced a new non-AC metro feeder service from December 22, 2025. The new route, numbered MF-10B, will operate between Tinfactory and Bidarahalli, providing direct bus connection via TC Palya Cross, Kittaganaru and the back gate of East Point College.

The feeder route is designed to improve access to metro connectivity for residents living in the internal layout and growing residential areas in East Bengaluru, where direct connections to major transit hubs are limited.

Why does the new feeder route matter?

Tinfactory is a major transit point in East Bengaluru, handling significant passenger movement due to its proximity to metro infrastructure, industrial areas and main roads. Also, with the increasing demand for reliable public transport, areas like Bidarahalli and Kittaganaru have witnessed steady residential growth.

For many commuters in these areas, reaching a metro station often involves multiple changes or reliance on autos and private vehicles. The MF-10B feeder route aims to simplify this journey by offering a scheduled, direct bus link between a neighborhood and a major transit hub.

Route details and bus deployment

According to BMTC official information, the route number of the new feeder service is MF-10B. It will operate from Tinfactory to Bidarahalli via TC Palya Cross, Kittaganaru and back gate of East Point College.

In the initial phase, BMTC has deployed 1 bus on this route. The number of buses assigned is an important detail for passengers, as it determines the frequency and potential waiting time. With a single bus service operating, passengers are advised to plan journeys as per a fixed timetable, especially during peak hours.

Travelers should keep track of time

BMTC has released the route-wise timetable as Annexure A. Feeder service will run multiple trips in both directions throughout the day, allowing passengers to align their bus travel with Metro timings and work schedules.

departure point Time
tinfactory 8:50 am, 10:50 am, 12:25 pm, 2:00 pm, 4:00 pm, 5:35 pm
Bidarhalli 8:00 am, 10:00 am, 11:35 am, 1:10 pm, 3:15 pm, 4:45 pm

Timings cover morning, afternoon and evening travel windows. Passengers are advised to arrive at bus stops a little early, especially during the first few days of operation, as traffic conditions may affect running times.

Non-AC Feeder Service Focus

MF-10B is introduced as a non-AC service in line with BMTC’s feeder bus model, which prioritizes affordability and short distance connectivity. These services are intended to complement metro travel by handling the first and last leg of the commute rather than replacing longer bus routes.

By strengthening feeder connectivity, BMTC aims to make public transport more practical for daily use, reduce congestion around metro stations and reduce dependence on private vehicles for short trips.

What should travelers keep in mind

Since the route is served by only one bus, it can be crowded during rush hours, especially in the morning and evening. Any change in frequency or additional buses will depend on passenger response and demand assessment.

BMTC has said that route-wise timetable details are available through its official communication systems, and passengers should watch for updates if adjustments are made.

A step towards better last mile connectivity

The launch of the MF-10B feeder route reflects BMTC’s ongoing effort to strengthen last mile connectivity along with the expansion of Bengaluru’s metro network. For residents of Bidarahalli, Kittaganaru and surrounding areas, the new route provides a structured and predictable public transport option starting from December 22, making every day commute a little more manageable.
