Actress Nidhi Shah, who played Kinjal, Rupali Ganguly’s daughter-in-law in Anupamaa, has broken her silence on claims about her dating co-star Gaurav Khanna during her stint on the show. This comes amid Gaurav`s recent Bigg Boss 19 win.
Nidhi Shah reacts to dating rumours with Gaurav Khanna
It started after Nidhi liked a post which criticised Khanna’s Bigg Boss 19 win. A fan of Khanna allegedly noticed this and accused Nidhi of being in a romantic relationship with him during their Anupamaa days. The fan wrote, “They had had an affair during Anupamaa.” Nidhi sharply reacted to the comment, dismissing all the allegations. She wrote, “Yaa you know better,” followed by a few laughing emojis.
For the unversed, Nidhi Shah played the role of Kinjal in Rajan Shahi’s popular show, Anupamaa. Meanwhile, Gaurav Khanna used to play the role of Anuj Kapadia. Notably, Khanna was paired opposite Rupali Ganguly, while Nidhi was their daughter-in-law. Both Gaurav and Nidhi quit the show in 2024.
Gaurav Khanna criticised for Bigg Boss 19 Win
Gaurav Khanna recently emerged as the winner of Salman Khan-hosted Bigg Boss 19 on Sunday, December 7. Meanwhile, Farrhana Bhatt became the first runner-up of the show, followed by Pranit More, Tanya Mittal and Amaal Mallik, respectively. Apart from lifting the coveted trophy, Khanna also took home a prize money of Rs 50 lakh.
However, ever since his victory, many have criticised Khanna, saying he did not deserve to win Salman Khan’s show. Runner-up Farrhana Bhatt also claimed that contestants like Amaal Mallik and Abhishek Bajaj made better contributions to the reality show than Khanna.
While talking to Filmygyan, Farrhana said, “Others were there too, Amaal, Tanya, Pranit, they contributed to a great extent. More than GK, Kalpu Kaka (the tree Tanya used to talk to) had a contribution. Even in his journey video, more than him, Baseer and Abhishek were visible. Gaurav didn’t even do 20% of what Abhishek did in Bigg Boss 19. So I feel, in terms of contribution, he hasn’t done something wow. But I congratulate him for winning the trophy of Farrhana Bhatt’s season.”
