The first T20I match between Team India and South Africa is scheduled to be played at the Barabati Stadium in Odisha on December 9.
Team India`s T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav will return to action for the shortest format series. Also, it will be interesting to see if Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer return to action. Both players have missed out on action in the ongoing ODI series due to injuries.
Gill has not yet recovered from the neck injury that he sustained during the first Test match against South Africa, whereas Iyer is recovering from the rib injury.
Also, pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj may return to the squad as they have been provided rest for the 50-over series.
Currently, the “Men in Blue” are featuring in the three-match ODI series against the Proteas. The hosts under the captaincy of KL Rahul have won the first match by 17 runs at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Jharkhand. Virat Kohli`s 52nd ODI century was the highlight of the match.
The second ODI match between teams is scheduled to be played at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Raipur on December 3.
