ODI Women`s WC 2025: England bowl out South Africa for 69 runs in 20.4 overs

In the ODI Women`s World Cup 2025 match against England, South Africa were bowled out for 69 runs in just 20.4 overs at the Assam Cricket Association Stadium in Guwahati.

Having put South Africa to bat first, skipper Laura Wolvaardt and Tazmin Brits opened the innings for South Africa. The opening duo failed to put on a big start for the team. Facing five balls, Wolvaardt managed to score just five runs, including a boundary. On the other hand, Brits scored five runs in seven balls, with the help of a boundary.

Sune Luus faced 11 balls and scored two runs. Marizanne Kapp accumulated four runs in six balls, which also included a boundary. Anneke Bosch faced five balls and scored six runs, with the help of a boundary.

South Africa`s wicket-keeper Sinola Jafta was the highest wicket-taker as she scored 22 runs in 36 balls, including three boundaries.

Nadine de Klerk (11) and Masabata Klaas (13) departed after scoring three runs each. Chloe Tryon returned to the pavilion after scoring just two runs off 10 balls.

Nonkululeko Mlaba was dismissed for three runs in eight balls. Facing 12 deliveries, Ayabonga Khaka stayed unbeaten on six runs. Her knock was also laced with a boundary.

England`s Linsey Smith was the most successful bowler for England. Bowling seven overs, she gave away just seven runs and bagged three wickets. Nat Sciver-Brunt, Sophie Ecclestone, and Charlie Dean bagged two wickets each.
