Padma Awards 2026: Dharmendra, Uday Kotak, Harmanpreet Kaur among those honored

The President of India on Sunday approved the conferment of 131 Padma Awards for 2026. Notable award winners include veteran actor Dharmendra, industrialist Uday Kotak, former tennis star Vijay Amritraj and cricketer Harmanpreet Kaur, who have been honored for their outstanding achievements and service.

The awards will be presented later in a ceremony organized at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

One of the country’s highest civilian honours, the award will be presented by the President.

Home Ministry The President of India has approved 131 Padma awards for 2026, one of the country’s highest civilian honours, it was announced on Sunday.

The awards will be conferred in three categories, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri, recognizing distinguished service in various fields such as arts, social work, public affairs, science and engineering, trade and industry, medicine, literature and education, sports and civil services.

The awards are traditionally announced on Republic Day and presented by the President at Rashtrapati Bhavan in March or April.

The Padma Awards 2026 list includes 5 Padma Vibhushan, 13 Padma Bhushan and 113 Padma Shri.

According to the list, a total of 19 women have been selected, including 16 posthumous award winners. The list also includes six foreigners or persons of Indian origin (NRI/PIO/OCI). Additionally, there are two couple awards, where the honor is counted as one.
