Pakistani all-rounder Imad Wasim has announced his retirement from international cricket. The 35-year-old spinner shared the news on Friday, just six months after returning for the T20 World Cup.
“After much thought and reflection, I have decided to retire from international cricket,” Imad announced on social media platform X.
“Representing Pakistan on the world stage has been the greatest honour of my life.”

Imad’s initial retirement was in November of the previous year. This followed a period of fitness challenges and being overlooked for selection.
He returned to the international scene for the T20 World Cup held earlier this year. The tournament, hosted jointly by the United States and the West Indies, saw Pakistan exit in the first round.
Pakistan suffered defeats against the United States and rivals India. Imad’s performance in the tournament was underwhelming. He managed only three wickets and 19 runs across three matches.
Imad’s international career spanned 55 ODIs. He claimed 44 wickets and scored 986 runs in this format.
His T20 International record includes 75 matches. In T20Is, he took 73 wickets and scored 554 runs.
While retiring from the international arena, Imad intends to continue playing cricket. He plans to participate in domestic competitions and franchise leagues.
