Prithvi Shaw and Akriti Agarwal offer prayers at Malakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain

Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw, along with his fiancee Akriti Agarwal, offered prayers at the Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain. The newly engaged pair sought blessings at the morning Bhasm Aarti.

“It felt amazing. I am here for Bhasma Aarti for the very first time. I had heard a lot about it. I felt great positivity here. Darshan was really good, thanks to everyone.” Shaw said to ANI while speaking outside the temple.

Shaw also talked about the recently concluded T20 World Cup, where Team India won a record third title. The Indian batter was optimistic that many more World Cups would follow after India`s commanding win.

“Our country is cruising ahead; we have won not just one but two World Cups (T20 World Cup). More such World Cups will follow,” he added.

Shaw and Akriti Agarwal, his long-time girlfriend, recently got engaged. Shaw posted a few photos from the event on Instagram on Sunday to share the good news with his friends and followers.

“From sixes on the field to a lifetime of hits off it. She`s is my perfect innings!” Prithvi Shaw wrote under the post.

Prithvi Shaw set for an IPL comeback with Delhi Capitals

After being picked up by Delhi Capitals (DC) for Rs 75 lakh in this year`s mini auction, Shaw will play for DC in the upcoming season of the IPL. Shaw was unsold in the last auction.

During his IPL career, Shaw has scored 1892 runs in 79 innings at an average of 23 and a strike rate of 147.

During the domestic season, Shaw scored 193 runs in his six innings for Maharashtra in the SMAT trophy. This included a couple of half-centuries during the campaign.

Internationally, Shaw has played five tests for India, scoring 339 runs in nine innings. He has one century and two half-centuries to his name. He has further played six ODIs for the Indian team, scoring 189 runs. Shaw played his last match for India back in 2021 and will be hoping for a big IPL season to get back into the frame for the national team.
