Priya Sachdev Kapur, wife of late industrialist Sunjay Kapur, has been in the news ever since his demise. Even as she battles an inheritance case with Sunjay`s children from his first marriage with Karisma Kapoor, Priya has taken charge of his business. She recently revealed that she visited Sona Comstar`s Chennai plant and R&D centre, spending two days engaging with the teams there.
Priya Kapur takes over late Sunjay Kapur`s business
On Tuesday, Priya took to her Instagram handle to share an update about her life. She revealed that she spent two days with the leadership team of Sona Comstar in Chennai.
She shared several pictures from her visit, where she can be seen touring the plant, speaking to employees, and posing by a tree planted by Sunjay in 2002.
“Spent two enriching days with our leadership team at Sona Comstar’s Chennai plant and R&D centre, walking the shop floor, meeting the people, and witnessing the journey that keeps this place growing,” Priya wrote.
She continued, “As I spoke with engineers perfecting the smallest details and building their own in-house machines, I saw innovation driven by quiet determination. As Sunjay always believed, ‘In the pursuit of excellence,’ I was reminded that progress isn’t powered by machines alone — it’s driven by people, their passion, purpose, and perseverance.”
She also spoke about the leadership lessons she learned during this period. “Leadership, I’ve come to believe, is less about giving direction and more about being present. It’s about showing up to listen, learn, and care. When leaders take care of their people, everything else begins to align — quality, innovation, and growth. Because in the end, technology may define what we do, but people define who we are.”
“Deeply proud and humbled by what this team is building. Looking forward to returning and witnessing more of this incredible momentum in action,” Priya concluded.
After Sunjay`s death, Priya was appointed as an Additional Non-Executive Director on the board of his company, Sona Comstar. She took on more responsibilities after her husband’s passing.
Priya Kapur vs Karisma Kapoor’s kids
The Delhi High Court is currently hearing a civil suit filed by actress Karisma Kapoor`s children, who have challenged the authenticity of the Will purportedly executed by their late father, industrialist Sunjay Kapur. The children are seeking a share in his personal assets, alleging that the Will presented before the court is forged and fabricated. They claim their late father had “repeatedly assured” them of a share that is missing from the final document.
Sunjay Kapur, the chairman of Sona Comstar and a leading figure in the auto parts industry, died in June in London while playing a polo match. He was married to Karisma from 2003 to 2016, and they have two children together — Samaira and Kiaan. Sunjay married Priya in 2017.
