Actress Sara Arjun, who began her journey in the film industry as a child actor, made her debut as a leading actress with Dhurandhar. With the success of the film, she came into the spotlight and became a topic of discussion. Amid her rising fame, her father, actor Raj Arjun, spoke about how his daughter was his strength during his struggling years. He grew emotional as he shared how his daughter transformed his life- both professionally and personally.
Raj Arjun calls Sara his emotional pillar of support
Raj Arjun was speaking to a live audience at Kommune India’s Spoken Fest event. His daughter Sara was also seated in the audience listening to him. Recalling Sara’s birth, Raj said, “In 2005, a soul came into my life. I had heard that daughters are a blessing, and I got to live that blessing too.”
He shared that he got his first lead role after Sara’s birth, but the project got stalled. However, his determination only grew stronger for his daughter’s sake.
“If this soul hadn’t come into my life, I wouldn’t have been this person or this artist today,” he said.
Raj said the years that followed were marked by struggle. However, through it all, Sara was his emotional anchor and encouraged him to move forward. “Year after year, she was growing up while I was struggling, but she didn’t just hold my finger, she held my soul,” he said.
Raj Arjun grew emotional as he shared how his daughter became his pillar of support even during his lowest phases. “She took care of me like a Dhurandhar,” he said.
The actor also spoke about the evolving nature of fatherhood and explained how a man needs to be a father, friend, and guide all at once. “Sometimes you have to be the wind beneath her wings. I did that too and stayed hopeful,” he added.
When Sara got Raj a role in Secret Superstar
Raj also revealed the role his daughter played at the age of 11 in helping him secure a role in Secret Superstar. Recalling a moment from 2016 when he took her to casting director Mukesh Chhabra’s office, he said what followed turned out to be life-changing.
“She held Mukesh’s hand and dragged him outside. She turned her destiny towards me, and I bagged a role in Secret Superstar,” he said, describing the incident as a turning point in his journey.
Today, as Sara Arjun finds her own spotlight, Raj says the pride he feels is immeasurable. “When that daughter is spreading her light in the world, being a Dhurandhar, she shares that spotlight with me too,” he said.
Summing up his emotions, he added, “People say daughters hold their father’s hand and move forward, but I reached my destination holding my daughter’s hand. This brightness of my life is called Sara.”
