Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton claimed that his experience with the Prancing Horse thus far has exceeded his expectations.
The seven-time world champion made a blockbuster move from Mercedes at the start of the season, and while his performances on the track have underwhelmed — he is yet to finish on the podium in a feature race — the overall experience of driving for the iconic team has been a dream come true for the Brition.
“It’s not at all what I expected, it’s more intense in so many areas. I didn’t expect that. I didn’t think the team at the factory would be so impressive. I was expecting energy, but this… it ‘s even more intense than I imagined,” Hamilton told French publication RTBF.
“There’s a huge sense of pride within this team. During a shoot last week, I had a big smile on my face the whole time. I love being in red! I look at the badge and I think, ‘Wow!’ It’s Ferrari, I can’t believe it. I still have to pinch myself,’ It’s phenomenal,” he added. Hamilton has scored 109 points in 13 races so far. Having finished fourth in two of the last three races, Hamilton will be hoping his maiden feature race podium in red is not too far away.
