Rupali Ganguly, best known for her role in Anupamaa, recently vented her irritation on social media after being trapped in traffic outside Film City in Mumbai for more than an hour. She lambasted the BMC`s `haphazard` operation after her 14-kilometre drive to Film City took more than double the normal time owing to metro work turmoil. The actress boarded a rickshaw to the sets and stated that she had been stopped for more than an hour outside Film City in Goregaon. She stated that it generally takes her an hour to get to school from home, but it took her 2.5 hours today owing to terrible traffic congestion, which was exacerbated by the ongoing metro construction work in the area. She accused the BMC of taking Mumbaikars for granted.
Rupali Ganguly slams BMC
Rupali Ganguly lambasted the BMC and metro authorities for poor planning and mismanagement, and questioned why massive construction containers were being transported during peak hours, around 10 a.m., when the majority of commuters commute to work. She advised that such operations be carried out in the early morning hours, between 3 and 4 a.m., to prevent disrupting everyday traffic. The Anupamaa actress posted a video of the traffic gridlock from her rickshaw, writing, “Still stuck for over 1 hour now outside Film City! For a 14 km distance, it takes me 2 hours to get home at night and mornings usually 1 hour, but because of mybmc haphazard functioning, it took me 2 and a half hours to get to my set !! Stop taking mumbaikars for granted mybmc!!!!”
Rupali detailed the issue of traffic around Film City
Rupali claimed in the video that the road to Film City had been fully clogged for more than 50 minutes. “I`ve been waiting outside Film City. There is currently some Metro construction going on outside Film City. And the Metro`s so-called management, the BMC, or whoever was in charge, had to procure such a large container. In any case, it has obstructed half of the road. If they had to get this, they should have done it between 3 and 4 a.m. Not at a time when everyone is heading to work at 10 a.m.” she exclaimed, frustrated.
She also posted the video to her Instagram stories, writing, “Stuck for almost an hour now!!! BMC, you`re the most disorganised and literally the pits! “Stop taking the public for granted.”
