Over the years, Tendulkar and Bhosle developed a strong personal bond, often described as one of mother and son, with the singer openly expressing her affection for him.

Asha Bhosle remained closely connected with the Sachin Tendulkar family and was a regular presence during important occasions, with her final public appearance coming at the wedding reception of Arjun Tendulkar just over a month before her passing.
That bond also reflected the shared stature both Bhosle and Tendulkar enjoyed in Indian public life, having been conferred the Padma Vibhushan in 2008 for their contributions to their respective fields.
