Legendary Sachin Tendulkar graced the Centre Court at Wimbledon on Friday during the first semi-final of the 2025 men`s singles between Spain`s Carlos Alcaraz and the United States` Taylor Fritz.

“The Little Master graces Centre Court. Wonderful to have you at #Wimbledon, @sachintendulkar, @RalphLauren,” Wimbledon shared on X, their official platform.

Tendulkar also took to social media to share a picture from the event, standing alongside tennis legends Bjorn Borg and Roger Federer.

Earlier on Thursday, a portrait of Tendulkar was unveiled at the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) Museum before the opening day of the third Test between England and India at Lord’s. The painting, created by renowned artist Stuart Pearson Wright, will be displayed at the MCC Museum for the remainder of the year before it finds a permanent spot in the Pavilion.

The portrait was inspired by a photograph taken of Tendulkar at his Mumbai residence nearly 18 years ago. As the artist worked on the piece, his approach evolved, culminating in a unique oil painting on abraded aluminum. This work is the fifth portrait of an Indian cricketer to be included in the MCC`s prestigious collection. The other four, Kapil Dev, Bishan Bedi, Dilip Vengsarkar, and Tendulkar, were also painted by Pearson Wright.

What sets this portrait apart is its size and focus. Unlike previous full-length portraits of Indian cricketers, this one is a larger-than-life image of Tendulkar’s head and shoulders, capturing the essence of his grandeur.

The Lord’s Portrait Programme, which has been in place for three decades, has become a hallmark of the MCC’s commitment to preserving the history of cricket. With a collection that spans over 3,000 images, nearly 300 of which are portraits, the MCC Museum is home to a wealth of sporting history, making it the oldest sporting museum in Europe.

In an international career spanning over 24 years, Tendulkar scored an astounding 34,357 runs across Test matches, One-Day Internationals, and T20 Internationals, making him the highest run-scorer in the history of the game. This total is over 6,000 runs ahead of the next closest player, Kumar Sangakkara, who has 28,016 runs to his name. Such records and achievements solidify Tendulkar`s place as one of cricket`s greatest legends and a true ambassador of the sport worldwide.
