About Sajid Khan’s comeback
Last month, Sajid Khan celebrated his 55th birthday with close friends and family members. He gained public attention through his stint on Bigg Boss 16. His last directorial venture was the 2014 release Humshakals. After a decade, he is gearing up for a comeback. In 2022, Sajid announced his comeback film, 100 Percent, with John Abraham, Riteish Deshmukh, Shehnaaz Gill, and many others. It was scheduled for a Diwali 2023 release. However, due to multiple delays and legal matters, the film has been put on the backburner.
In October, mid-day reported that Sajid has been in talks with Zee Studios to helm a romantic comedy. The untitled film is likely to launch Govinda and Sunita Ahuja`s son, Yashvardhan Ahuja. He is reportedly paired opposite Laapataa Ladies fame Nitanshi Goel. “Sajid has been approached by the studio, but he hasn’t said yes yet. The studio heads are keen to have him helm the film as the comedy elements are right up his alley. Yashvardhan has another project with Phantom Studios, but he is likely to start shooting for this first. Sajid was earlier to direct a film with John Abraham, but that didn’t work out,” a source told.
In a candid chat with Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa on their YouTube channel Bharti TV, Sajid opened up about how the idea of a “hero” has pretty much faded from Hindi films. He said it like it is: “Hero bahut kam bache hain apne paas. There are no heroes in today’s time. There are leads.”
