Munsey continued his aggressive approach, bringing up a brisk half-century off just 30 deliveries. Alongside Michael Jones, he stretched the opening stand beyond 100, leaving Italy searching for answers in the middle overs. Grant Stewart finally provided a breakthrough, dismissing Munsey for a commanding 84 off 54 balls to end the stand at 126.

 


Brief fightback for Italy

 


Italy struck twice in quick succession as JJ Smuts removed Jones for 37, before Ali Hasan accounted for Richie Berrington. Those wickets briefly slowed Scotland’s momentum, but the damage had already been done.

 


Late assault pushes Scotland past 200

 

Any hopes of containment vanished at the death. Brandon McMullen unleashed a powerful finishing burst, smashing an unbeaten 41 off just 18 balls, well supported by Michael Leask’s rapid 22 not out. Despite a late wicket from Samosa Draca, Scotland surged to 207 for 4, leaving Italy with a daunting chase of 208 to win.
