Shantanu Maheshwari recently shared his struggle story even after working with directors like Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Neeraj Pandey. He also talked about the disappointment he faced after the failure of Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha.
In a chat with Mid-Day, the actor explained that despite working with such renowned filmmakers, the struggle hasn’t eased for him. He still feels the need to prove himself with every project, knowing that if he doesn’t perform well, people will criticise him and doubt his abilities. He emphasised that he can’t afford to relax and must consistently deliver strong performances.
The actor spoke about the disappointment he felt regarding the failure of Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha. He admitted to feeling let down but appreciated how the film industry never placed unnecessary pressure on him. He shared that he always checks with his director if they are satisfied with his work. When the director reassured him, saying he was happy with his performance and that he would be in the right place after this, the actor considered that as his biggest win.
Shantanu’s breakthrough in Bollywood came when Sanjay Leela Bhansali cast him in Gangubai Kathiawadi opposite Alia Bhatt. Although his role as Afsaan Razzaq was relatively small, he earned widespread praise for his performance. He was later cast in Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, where he played the young Ajay Devgn, but the film didn’t garner the acclaim it had hoped for.
