Shweta Tripathi kickstarts preparation for her next intense drama after Mirzapur

New beginnings are calling Shweta Tripathi, who is set to kick off her next film in March. We’ve heard the yet-untitled project is an intense drama. Admitting that the role has begun to occupy her mind, the actor said, “There is a certain emotional weight to it. I’ve started prepping already — I am reading, doing workshops, and spending time understanding her inner world. I know it’s going to push me, and that’s exactly why I said yes to it.”

As she prepares to begin shooting for an intense theatrical drama this March, Shweta Tripathi is excited for new beginnings. The actor has just wrapped Mirzapur: The Movie, and she is on a much-deserved break vacationing in Berlin and Amsterdam. She has been seen sporting a new look, which one assumes is her for her next.

“Every time I finish a project, I cut my hair. It sounds simple, but for me it’s emotional. I’ve lived with a character I started doing nearly a decade ago for months. I’ve carried her thoughts, her anger, her silences. The haircut is my way of telling myself okay, that chapter is done.”

Audiences have embraced her as Golu Didi with a warmth that still surprises her. The character has stayed with viewers — and with Shweta — long after the cameras stopped rolling. But she is clear that comfort can’t become a habit.

“I feel so grateful for the love Golu Didi has received. She’ll always be special to me,” she says. “But I never want to get too comfortable. As actors, we have to keep moving. Even small changes remind me that I’m allowed to shift, to grow, to not stay stuck in one image.”

For Shweta, reinvention doesn’t mean drastic makeovers or shock value. It’s about subtle resets. “It’s not about doing anything extreme. It’s about having fun with who you are. Sometimes just seeing yourself differently in the mirror can unlock something internally. It gives me fresh energy.”

That energy will soon be channelled into her next project and an intense drama which goes on floors in March. While she’s keeping details under wraps, she admits the role has already begun to occupy her mind.  “I’m both nervous and excited which is usually a good sign for me. I know it’s going to push me, and that’s exactly why I said yes.”
