Only days after wrapping up Mirzapur: The Film in Mumbai, Shweta Tripathi has begun shooting for her next in Bhopal. The yet-untitled project, a thriller, went on floors on December 23 and will be shot in a start-to-finish schedule ending by mid-January. That means Tripathi will skip her New Year’s break, instead welcoming 2026 amid arc lights and cameras — something she doesn’t mind at all.
When the unit wrapped up ‘Mirzapur: The Film’
“I wrapped up the shoot of Mirzapur: The Film, and almost immediately found myself stepping into a completely new world and a new story. While most people are celebrating the holidays, I am celebrating this phase of my life by doing what I love the most — being on set,” she said.
Although details about the movie are under wraps, we’ve learnt that it’s helmed by a debutant director. Tripathi added, “It’s an intense drama. Shooting in Bhopal and across Madhya Pradesh adds a beautiful authenticity to the story. I feel grateful to be trusted with a leading role where I explore shades that are raw and powerful.”
