Super Bowl XXIII
January 22, 1989

After a week -long riots within Miami, San Francisco captured their third super bowl of the 1980s and became the first NFC team to win three times.

49 residents dropped Bangles out from 454 to 229, but found themselves behind in the game. Jim Brech’s 40-yard field goal, 3:20 with the remaining, gave Cincinnati a 16–13 lead.
