T20 WC 2026: Italy stun Nepal to secure maiden T20 World Cup win in Mumbai | T20 World Cup 2026

The T20 World Cup 2026 has witnessed something truly amazing with the Italian cricket team earning their first ever World Cup triumph as they beat Nepal, a side ranked higher than them by 10 wickets in their group game at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday.  It was a day to remember for the Azurri who have proven to their fans back home and to the cricketing world, that they are not just there to make up the numbers and will try and win matches. The day will not just be etched in the history books for Italian cricket but also will be a significant moment for the country who are trying their hand at a sport which is completely new for the country who are known for footballing heroics all around the world.

The Mosca brothers (Justin Mosca and Anthony Mosca) who opened for Italy put up an unbeaten and fiery 124-run stand on the day to hand their team the famous win in style.  (More to follow)
