In a heartbreaking incident that has stunned the community, a 14-year-old boy was discovered living alongside his deceased mother’s body for four days in their flat located in Kalyan area of Maharashtra’s Thane district. The grim discovery came to light when concerned neighbours alerted the authorities due to a foul stench emanating from the premises. The 44-year-old deceased woman was found in an advanced state of decomposition, highlighting the harrowing circumstances under which the teenager had been living.
According to local police, the incident unfolded when residents of the housing complex raised the alarm on Wednesday, July 31, prompting a visit from the building’s caretaker and neighbours. Upon knocking, the boy opened the door, revealing the distressing scene inside. Authorities are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death and the reasons why the teenager remained inside with her body for several days.
Following the discovery at the scene, the 14-year-old boy informed police that his mother had passed away due to an illness, stating he had no suspicions of foul play. Meanwhile, the Khadakpada police have initiated an accidental death report in connection with the incident. Notably, the police report does not make any reference to the teen’s father, prompting further investigation into the family’s circumstances by authorities.
Last year, another disturbing incident took place in Mumbai when the body of a flight attendant was found under suspicious circumstances. The incident prompted police to launch a murder investigation. Authorities reported that the 24-year-old flight attendant was discovered deceased in an apartment in the city.
A suspect was apprehended in connection with the case, although details of their identity were not disclosed. The victim, identified as a resident of Rajendra Nagar, Raipur, had been residing in Andheri’s NG Complex alongside another air hostess at the time of the incident.
