Reality TV star and actress Divya Agarwal has strongly responded to trolls who labelled her a “gold digger” after her marriage to restaurateur Apurva Padgaonkar. In a recent interaction, the actress addressed the criticism with sarcasm and confidence, making it clear that her relationship is built on love rather than wealth.
Divya, who gained popularity through reality shows like Bigg Boss OTT and Ace of Space and now The 50, said she has come across several such comments on social media. However, she revealed that she does not take the trolling seriously. Instead, she chose to respond with humour and said she does not mind being called a gold digger if people insist on using that label.

Taking a witty dig at the accusations, Divya remarked that if critics want to call her a gold digger, they could even call her a “diamond digger.” She added that she has already found the “gold” she was looking for in her husband, making it clear that her marriage is based on emotional connection rather than financial gain.
The actress also questioned the assumptions behind such claims. According to her, people who accuse someone of being a gold digger often imagine a glamorous lifestyle filled with luxury cars, lavish homes and private jets. Mocking the narrative, Divya asked where all those luxuries were in her life. She pointed out that she does not own a Lamborghini, does not have a bungalow near Juhu Beach and certainly is not travelling in private jets.
She further revealed that she still travels economy and lives a fairly normal life, which contradicts the extravagant image people associate with the label. Through her response, Divya highlighted how easily social media users jump to conclusions without knowing the reality of someone’s personal life.

Divya also emphasised that her relationship with Apurva Padgaonkar has always been rooted in mutual understanding, support and genuine affection. She acknowledged that outsiders may not fully understand the depth of their bond but said the relationship has been worth every challenge she has faced.
The couple tied the knot in February 2024 in an intimate wedding ceremony attended by close friends and family members. Before getting married, Divya and Apurva had been together for several years, and the actress has often spoken about how supportive he has been of her personal and professional journey.
