The upcoming T20 World Cup 2026 is all set to begin from February 7, and will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.

The United States of America (USA) is placed in Group A of the tournament along with teams such as India, Namibia, the Netherlands, and Pakistan.

The USA will begin its campaign by playing a clash against Team India on February 7 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

When asked about their tournament-opening match, which is against the “Men in Blue”, USA`s spinner Nosthush Kenjige expressed excitement and nervousness at the same time.

“I`ll be lying if I say that I am not nervous, but let`s say I am enthusiastic and nervous at the same time,” he said.

Considering that India is one of the best teams in the format, the spinner feels that the USA team has no better team than the “Men in Blue” to challenge itself.

“It`s a massive moment for all of us, we are playing a World Cup here in India and we are looking forward to it. We are really excited to be here. We will be playing one of the best teams in the world. So, no better team to challenge ourselves. We are excited to see how it goes,” said Kenjige.

Further speaking, he also said that the USA team would like to challenge India and Pakistan, as the side keeps clashing against Namibia and the Netherlands.

“Personally, if you would ask me, I would have picked these teams in the group. We want to play against these two teams (India and Pakistan) because you want to challenge the best, and these two Asian countries are the best around here. Namibia and Netherlands, we play around the year. We have been doing well against them for the last couple of years. So, let`s see how it goes,” said the 34-year-old cricketer.
