Vidisha Srivastava, who is seen as Anita Bhabhi in the popular television show Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain! opened up about the difference in working with Shubhangi Atre, who used to play Angoori Bhabi on the show, and Shilpa Shinde, who has taken over the role now.
Shilpa has been roped in to play the role of Angoori Bhabhi in the sequel Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai 2.0, as the makers plan to expand the comic universe and change the format of the show.
For the unversed, Shilpa was originally a part of the hit TV show when it began in 2015; however, she quit it in 2016, citing mental torture by the producers, Sanjay Kohli and Benaifer Kohli. She was then replaced by Shubhangi, who essayed the role for a decade.
Vidisha Srivastava prefers working with Shilpa Shinde
During an exclusive conversation with IANS, Vidisha revealed that while working with Shubhangi for the last 4 years, they enjoyed good chemistry. “I started working with Shubhangi Atre. I was also very new to the show myself. I have had a good chemistry with her as well. I have worked with her for 4 years”, she shared.
Sharing what it has been like working with Shilpa, Vidisha went on to reveal that she found her to be a nice person and very easy to work with. She said, “I had seen and heard about Shilpa ji`s chemistry with her colleagues. When I started working with her, I came to believe that working with her is actually really comfortable. She is a nice lady. I am praising her on her face that I am enjoying working with her.”
“Yes, Shubhangi Atre was a part of the show for a long time, but I would like to favor her a bit as I am enjoying working with her because she is more fun and I am enjoying working with her to be honest,” concluded Vidisha.
Shilpa Shinde says Shubhangi Atre lacks comic timing
Shilpa Shinde`s recent comments on Shubhangi Atre have caused a huge controversy, with netizens accusing her of being disrespectful and crossing a line.
After her comeback, Shilpa Shinde, in an interview with Telly Chakkar, remarked that Atre lacked comic timing and accused her of copying her.
“Dekhiye, as an actor, maine us waqt bhi bola tha jab controversy chal rahi thi. Very frankly, usne kaam achha kiya hai. Achhi actress hai, but comedy sabke bas ki baat nahi hoti. Uske baad kisiko copy karna bohot mushkil hota hai, bohot pressure hota hai,” Shinde said. She further added, “Chahe main kitni bhi achhi acting kar loon, kisi actress ko copy karna ho toh wo copy ho jaati hai.” (See, as an actor, I had said this previously as well. Very frankly, she (Shubhangi) did great work. She is a good actress, but comedy is not everyone`s forte. It is very difficult to copy someone and there is a lot of pressure to do it right. No matter how good an actor I am, if I try to imitate someone, then it will seem like a copy.)
