New material and new audiences — that’s what stand-up comic and actor Vir Das’s life is all about these days as he takes his Hey Stranger tour around the world. In fact, the tour, which kicked off in February, includes a special venue. The International Emmy-winning comedian is set to perform at the Royal Albert Hall in London on April 1.

The Royal Albert Hall has hosted many celebrated artistes, from bands like The Beatles and Led Zeppelin to contemporary musicians like Adele. Lata Mangeshkar was the first Indian artiste to perform at the venue in 1974.
Naturally, the upcoming show at the venue is a landmark moment in Das’s career. He said, “Every tour feels like a new conversation with the world. Performing at the Royal Albert Hall is special, it’s a venue that carries so much history and has hosted some of the greatest performers. To bring an Indian stand-up show to that stage is surreal and deeply humbling.”
