Viveck Vaswani reveals why he never worked with Salman Khan again: ‘I can't work jaha log daru pite hai'

Filmmaker Viveck Vaswani launched Raveena Tandon opposite Salman Khan in Patthar Ke Phool. However, Viveck never worked with Salman again. In a recent conversation with Vickey Lalwani on his YouTube channel, Viveck said he prefers disciplined working environments and would only collaborate with Salman under certain conditions.

Viveck Vaswani says he doesn't want to work with Salman Khan because he is indisciplined.

Viveck Vaswani reveals why he didn’t work with Salman Khan after Patthar Ke Phool

Viveck revealed that he was never tempted to work with Salman again and said, “I cannot work where there is liquor. I cannot work jaha log daru pite hai, indiscipline ke sath kaam karte hai (where people drink and work with indiscipline). If I get the Salman who works with Sanjay Leela Bhansali or Sooraj Barjatya, then I would do it. Because with them, Salman is completely disciplined, a top professional, he gives them his best. If I work with Salman, I would like to give him the best.”

He added, “With some filmmakers, he is in control like Aditya Chopra, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Sooraj Barjatya. He’s in control with them. These are producers who don’t make films just on Salman’s name. They get the same respect because they are very big banners. They don’t allow interference. They need Salman the actor, not Salman the star. I don’t want indiscipline.”

Patthar Ke Phool

The 1991 action film was directed by Anant Balani and produced by G. P. Sippy and Viveck Vaswani. It starred Salman Khan as a police officer opposite debutant Raveena Tandon. The film was written by veteran writer and Salman’s father, Salim Khan, and emerged as one of the highest-grossing films of that year.

Salman Khan’s upcoming films

Salman is now awaiting the release of his upcoming film, Maatrubhumi. Helmed by Apoorva Lakhia, the film also stars Chitrangada Singh in a lead role. The war drama features Salman as an Indian Army colonel leading his men against a larger Chinese force in one of the Indian armed forces’ famous last-stand stories. The makers say the film aims to present an unflinching portrayal of courage, sacrifice and resilience, while balancing the intensity of conflict with the intimacy of love and family. It was earlier scheduled to release in cinemas on 17 April, but has since been postponed. The new release date is yet to be announced. Recent reports suggest the film is now expected to arrive in August.

Apart from this, Salman recently joined hands with producer Dil Raju for his next project. The yet-untitled film is an action drama being directed by Vamshi Paidipally and is expected to go on floors in April 2026.

Posting a picture with Vamshi, Salman wrote in the caption, “Dil, Dimag, Jigar se from this April with @directorvamshi and #DilRaju.” Sri Venkateswara Creations also took to X and shared more details about the project. It wrote, “Salman Khan – A Phenomenon who has delivered countless moments of celebration to audiences across the world … Now joins hands with our very own, dearest blockbuster filmmaker Vamshi Paidipally for #SVC63. #SalmanKhanVamshiPaidipallyFilm goes on floors this April… destined for glory
