WATCH: Akash Deep rattles Tom Latham’s stumps with a fiery in-swinger

NEW DELHI: In a thrilling display of pace and precision, India pacer Akash Deep delivered a fiery in-swinger that left New Zealand skipper Tom Latham stunned during Day 2 of the third and final Test in Mumbai.
The incident happened in the first over of the NZ’s second innings when Kiwi skipper Latham, who survived a close lbw appeal on the previous ball, looked to drive but the ball sharply nipped back late from outside off, and went right through the big bat-pad gap to hit the timber.
It was a peach of a delivery by Akash who breached the opener’s defence as Latham failed to get any bat on it.

An elated Akash celebrated the wicket by giving a fiery send-off to Latham.
Akash’s ability to extract such movement off the pitch highlighted his skill, leaving both fans and analysts impressed by the electrifying dismissal. It was fast bowling at its finest.

Earlier, spinner Ajaz Patel took five wickets as New Zealand bowled out India for 263, with the hosts leading by 28 runs on Saturday.
Overnight batsman Shubman Gill made 90 before New Zealand ended the home side’s reply to their 235 in the second session at Wankhede Stadium.
