The craze surrounding Mumbai batter Rohit Sharma went slightly over the line on Tuesday, December 23. After completing a practice session at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, Rohit was surrounded by a large group of fans as he made his way back to the dressing room.
As the former India captain attempted to enter the restricted dressing room area from the field, one fan behaved inappropriately and nearly breached the closed off zone while insisting on taking a selfie. The situation briefly escalated as the fan continued to press for attention despite clear security boundaries.
A visibly irritated Rohit chose not to react and continued walking away without engaging. Security personnel at the venue quickly intervened, removed the fans from the area, and shut the hallway doors to prevent further intrusion.

Vijay Hazare Trophy: Where to watch Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma live?
Rohit has been in strong form in One Day Internationals in recent months, scoring heavily against Australia and South Africa. He has also undergone a visible fitness transformation, shedding weight and focusing on conditioning as he manages long breaks between international assignments.
The former India captain now features in only one international format, having retired from T20 Internationals and Test cricket in 2024 and 2025 respectively. With the 2027 ODI World Cup in South Africa on the horizon, Rohit will be keen to make a strong statement in India’s premier domestic 50 over tournament as he pushes his case for inclusion.
