When Esha Deol married Bharat Takhtani in 2012, actor Dharmendra couldn’t hold back tears. The actor and his wife, Hema Malini, were emotional at their daughter’s vidai (farewell), with Dharmendra holding onto Esha tightly, seemingly unable to let her go. Take a look. When Dharmendra broke down at Esha Deol’s vidai

Esha and Bharat’s intimate wedding was attended by their loved ones. A video that surfaced a few years after their 2012 wedding shows Dharmendra looking inconsolable as his daughter leaves home. Esha can be seen smiling as she performs the ceremonies, while an emotional Hema looks on. Later in the video, Dharmendra can be seen breaking down as he holds his daughter, wiping the tears from his eyes after letting her go. Esha can also be seen struggling to hold back tears as she leaves her parents’ home.

Esha Deol’s marriage to Bharat Takhtani

Esha married businessman Bharat in a low-key wedding at the ISKCON temple in Mumbai on 29 June 2012. In April 2017, the couple announced that they were expecting their first child, with Esha giving birth to Radhya on 20 October 2017 at Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai. Their second daughter, Miraya, was born on 10 June 2019. On 6 February 2024, after weeks of rumours, Esha and Bharat announced their separation after 12 years of marriage. When Dharmendra was hospitalised at Breach Candy Hospital earlier this month, Bharat also visited him.

Dharmendra’s death and legacy

Bollywood’s He-Man, Dharmendra, died on November 24 at age 89. He is survived by his wives, Prakash Kaur and Hema Malini, and children, Sunny Deol, Bobby, Vijeta, Esha, Ahana, and Ajeita. Tributes have been pouring in for the actor who dominated the 60s and 70s in Hindi cinema, starring in films such as Sholay and The Burning Train. Dharmendra will be seen in Ikkis, his last film.
