Shah Rukh Khan`s annual greeting outside Mannat on his birthday has become a cherished tradition for fans over the years. This year, too, as the superstar turned 60, fans flocked to the iconic bungalow, with banners and chanting his name, eagerly awaiting the actor to step onto his balcony and greet them. However, unfortunately, the King actor announced that he will not be greeting them this year due to police advisory and that fans will go back home disappointed this year.

Shah Rukh took to social media to announce that he will be unable to meet his fans this year at Mannat, which is currently undergoing renovation. He shared, “Have been advised by authorities that I will not be able to step out and greet all you lovely people who have been waiting for me. My deepest apologies to all of you but have been informed that it is for the overall safety of everyone due to crowd control issues.”

Concluding the note, SRK wrote, “Thank you for understanding and believe me… I will miss seeing you more than you will. Was looking forward to seeing you all and sharing love. Love u all…”

Crowds were seen lining the streets with posters and banners reading, “We love you SRK” and “Happy Birthday King Khan”. Police were seen trying to bring the crowd under control. As the authorities asked the fans to leave and blocked the road, some fans decided to make their way to his home through the beach.

Shah Rukh Khan promised a meet-up

Days ahead of his 60th birthday, SRK, during a AskSRK session, said that he would meet his fans as part of their annual fan meet. In response to one of the fans, the actor, in his witty style, said, “Of course, but may have to wear a hard hat!!!”

Many others even shared details about their visit to Mumbai for Shah Rukh Khan`s birthday celebrations. “Welcome see you on the 2nd,” the actor replied to a fan.

Meanwhile, the fans were treated to the title launch of SRK`s upcoming film along with a small teaser.

Shah Rukh rang in his 60th birthday in Alibaug over the weekend with his family and close friends, including Karan Johar, Farah Khan, and Rani Mukerji. Pictures and videos shared by the stars online kept fans hooked throughout the day, who waited for the star to make his way home.
