Yung Raja on his musical career: It’s not just music for me, it’s a spiritual journey - Exclusive

Music, this one word has different meanings for different people. For some, it is peace, it is an escape, for some it is happiness and for rapper and songwriter Yung Raja, it is all things spiritual. In an exclusive conversation with ETimes, Yung Raja talked about his musical journey and how it has changed him.
The ‘Mad Blessings’ fame artist confessed that exploring the realm of music was his childhood dream and he is so grateful to be living it. “It’s not just music for me, it’s a spiritual journey. I say this because it has been spiritually fulfilling for me. Music has brought me to places and allowed me to see things I have not seen before. It changed me and my life so deeply. It taught me to be true be true to myself, have a connection with my spirit, and make sure to protect my spirit,” said Yung Raja.
He also spoke about the most challenging part of his journey as well. The artist who believes music is the thread that connects him with his soul, says that at the same time keeping this spirit alive is one of the most challenging tasks. He explained, “The most challenging thing is to make sure that the spirit stays strong through all the high and low. There are days when you are so happy that you are over the moon, and sometimes not so great. You still have to keep showing up. You still have to push the creative envelope.”
“I am living my dream so I have no complaints, no regret. I am very grateful, to be able to travel and meet new people to experience life through music,” he added.
The artist who recently appeared at the Nykaaland event this year, also discussed the evolution of music over the years. “The art evolves with the artist. For instance, I didn’t imagine the kind of songs that we are making now were possible. It’s a vibe that is so hard to predict. I just would love for it to go crazier and crazier and deeper,” stated the singer.
Speaking of evolution the subject of Korean entertainment also came up and Yung said, “The South Korean culture and entertainment industry is one of the strongest in the field. My mom is a fan of K Dramas, and sometimes I watch with her and I understand why people are crazy about it.”
“All love and respect to Korean artist to push their culture on a global space. The way they are doing it, seeing Korean artist taking their culture to the next level and being so ahead of time, is so cool and respectable. So much love to them. So much to learn for them,” concluded the artist.
