Manmohan Singh funeral live updates: The Union Home Ministry on Friday said that the last rites of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will be performed on Saturday, December 28 at 11:45 am at the Nigambodh Ghat crematorium in Delhi. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) said, “It has been decided by the Government that Dr. Manmohan Singh will be given state honours. The last rites will be performed on December 28, 2024 at 11:45 am at Nigambodh Ghat, New Delhi.” ) said in a statement.
He was brought to the medical emergency of AIIMS, New Delhi at 8:06 pm on Thursday night. The hospital, in a statement, confirmed the demise of the veteran Congress leader, saying that despite all efforts, he could not be saved and was declared dead at 9:51 pm.
Dr. Manmohan Singh, who retired from public life after the Congress’ defeat at the hands of the BJP in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, made his last public appearance in the Rajya Sabha, of which he was a member, in August 2023.
