LSG vs DC: KL Rahul scripts history, becomes fastest to 5000 IPL runs

KL Rahul became the fastest batter to reach the landmark of 5000 runs in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The right-hander achieved the feat in Match No.40 of the IPL 2025 between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Tuesday, April 22 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

The 33-year-old Rahul broke the record of David Warner, who got to the milestone in his 135th innings back in 2020 while playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in their match against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
