IPL 2025: Aamir Khan set to join pre-match presentation for Qualifier 2 & final

After over two months of thrilling matches and memorable innings, IPL 2025 is nearing its end with only two games remaining – Qualifier 2 between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Sunday, June 1, and the final showdown on Tuesday, June 3.

As MI and PBKS compete for the finale spot against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in a highly anticipated game today, Bollywood star Aamir Khan is all set to join the match presentation, giving his predictions, analysing cricket action and entertaining viewers.

Khan, who is known to be a cricket enthusiast, will appear with Genelia D’Souza and the cast of his upcoming film, Sitaare Zameen Par, for the pre-game presentations of Qualifier 2 and the IPL 2025 final.

Besides making an appearance and discussing cricket, the Lagaan actor will also swap the film camera with a mic as he steps into the commentary box for the two clashes, giving his analysis alongside a panel of former IPL champions and legends of the game.

Speaking about joining the IPL 2025 playoffs presentation, Khan says, “Nothing matches the energy and stakes of the IPL playoffs and I`m quite excited to be at JioStar`s studios for these crucial playoff games. Personally, I think both matches are going to be a cracker considering the teams still in contention, and I`m looking forward to commentating off the field.”

After an eight-wicket loss against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the one-sided Qualifier 1 match, Punjab Kings are now in a do-or-die situation as their hopes of winning their maiden IPL trophy hang in the balance. The Shreyas Iyer-led side will be aiming to reach the finale for the second time after 2014.

On the other hand, Mumbai Indians will be looking to continue their form from their previous victory which knocked out title favourites Gujarat Titans. The Hardik Pandya-led side will be eyeing their seventh IPL final berth.
