Star England batter Joe Root broke Rahul Dravid’s record of most catches by a fielder in Test history. He achieved the feat on Day 2 of the third Test against India at Lord’s by taking a sensational diving catch at first slip. In the final session of the day’s play, Ben Stokes managed to get Karun Nair’s outside edge on 40.
Root, who was stationed at first slip, dived to his left and took a stunning one-handed catch to dismiss Nair. As a result, the England star claimed his 211th catch in Tests, dethroning Rahul Dravid from the top spot for most catches in the format, who had 210 grabs from 164 matches.
