Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique on Friday urged his charges to round off their excellent season by winning the Club World Cup, but warned his high-flying team to not get overly complacent.
“This is absolutely not going to be a simple formality. They are a very complete team and Enzo Maresca [Chelsea’s coach] is doing a great job,” the Spanish coach insisted.
PSG can complete a remarkable clean sweep of trophies with victory on Sunday, having won a French league and cup double before claiming the UEFA Champions League for the first time in their history at the end of May.
Although Chelsea come into the game as underdogs and benefited from playing relatively weaker opposition (they are yet to face a European club in the tournament), Blues defender Levi Colwill believes they’re capable of springing a surprise. “We have nothing to lose. We have to go out there and play our football, be confident and hopefully we’ll surprise everyone,” Colwill said.
