IND W vs ENG W 2nd ODI: Amy Jones` unbeaten 46 helps England win by 8 wickets

In the second ODI match against the Indian women`s team, England women came victorious by eight wickets at the Lord`s Cricket Ground. With this, the three-match ODI series stands tied at 1-1, with the third and final match yet to be played.

Earlier, Nat Sciver-Brunt`s England was supposed to chase a target of 144 runs in 29 overs. Later, the overs were reduced due to rain interruption.

Opening the innings for England, Tamsin Beaumont departed after scoring 34 runs in 35 balls, including five boundaries. Fellow opener Amy Jones continued to bash Team India bowlers. Facing 57 balls, she scored an unbeaten 46 runs, with the help of five boundaries.

Shouldering her was skipper Brunt, who returned to the pavilion after accumulating 21 runs off 25 balls. Her knock was laced with two boundaries. At the end, Sophia Dunkley, too, stayed unbeaten at the crease. She managed to score nine runs in nine balls, including two boundaries.

In an attempt to defend the target, Team India`s Kranti Goud and Sneh Rana bagged one wicket each. Bowling three overs, Rana conceded 12 runs. On the other hand, Goud was smashed for 29 in three overs. Arundhati Reddy, Nallapureddy Charani, and Deepti Sharma went wicketless in the second ODI match against England at Lord`s.

Batting first in the second ODI, Team India posted a total of 143 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 29 overs. Premier batswoman Smriti Mandhana`s knock was the highlight of India`s innings. The left-hander continued to showcase her skills as she accumulated 42 runs in 51 balls, including five boundaries. Deepti Sharma was the second-highest run-scorer for India in the match. Facing 34 balls, she scored 30 runs, including two boundaries. Harleen Deol (16) and Arundhati Reddy (14) were the only two Indian batters who registered double-digit scores.

England`s Sophie Ecclestone claimed three wickets by conceding 27 runs in six overs. Emily Arlott and Linsey Smith registered two wickets each to their names. Charlie Dean, too, bagged one wicket. Lauren Bell went wicketless in the second ODI match against Team India at Lord`s.

Both teams will now face each other in the third ODI, which will be played on July 22 at the Riverside Ground.
