
In the Tri-Nation T20 match against Zimbabwe, South Africa registered a win by seven wickets as they chased the target of 145 runs in 17.2 overs by losing just three wickets.
Chasing a target of 145 runs against Zimbabwe, South African openers, Lhuan-dre Pretorius and Reeza Hendricks were not able to accumulate many runs. Pretorius scored just four runs, whereas Hendricks returned to the pavilion after scoring just six runs.
Despite the early fall of wickets, Rassie van der Dussen delivered a captain`s knock by smashing an unbeaten 52 runs. His knock came in 41 balls, including six boundaries. Rubin Hermann, too, scored 63 runs off 36 deliveries, which was laced with three boundaries and four maximums.
Dewald Brevies stayed unbeaten on 13 runs, which came in seven balls, with the help of a boundary and a maximum.
Batting first in the Tri-Nation T20 match against South Africa, Zimbabwe posted a total of 144 runs for the loss of six wickets.
Opening the innings for the side, Brian Bennett played a stunning knock of 61 runs off just 43 deliveries, which was laced with seven boundaries and three maximums. Fellow opening batsman Wesley Madhevere departed early after scoring just 13 runs in 14 balls. He smashed two boundaries during his knock.
Wicketkeeper-batsman Clive Madanda and skipper Sikandar Raza manage to score eight and nine runs, respectively. Later, Ryan Burl played an unbeaten knock of 36 runs in 31 balls, including two boundaries and a maximum.
Tashinga Musekiwa and Tony Munyonga departed after scoring zero and one run, respectively. Tinotenda Maposa stayed unbeaten at the crease with eight runs in 10 balls.
South Africa`s Corbin Bosch claimed two wickets by conceding 16 runs in four overs. Lungi Ngidi, Nandre Burger, and Nqaba Peter registered one wicket each to their names. George Linde and Andile Simelane went wicketless in the T20 matches against Zimbabwe.
In the ongoing Tri-Nation T20I series, table-toppers New Zealand play second-placed South Africa in a dead-rubber match on Tuesday. Both teams have four points, but the South Africans have played one more game.
