Asian U19 & U22 Boxing Championships 2025: India finish with total of 27 medals

After clinching a gold in the women`s 80+ kg category, Ritika ended Team India`s campaign with a total of 27 medals at the Asian U 19 and U 22 Boxing Championship.

The concluded 10-day event witnessed some of the best boxing talent in India. The U 19 boxers finished one the second place on the table, whereas the U 22 boxers secured the fourth place.

According to the Olympics.com, a total of 40 boxers, 20 from each group were sent for the mega event.

In the U 19 category, the boxers clinched a total of 14 medals, including three gold medals, seven silver medals, and four bronze medals. Despite having the best medal count, they finished in the second place, below Uzbekistan, as they had a tally of seven gold medals.

The U 22 batch got a gold, four silvers, and eight bronze medals. Ritika was the lone champion from this age group as she defeated Kazakhstan`s Assel Toktassyn.

In the morning, Yatri Patel won a silver medal after suffering a loss to Khumorabonu Mamajonova of Uzbekistan in the women`s 57 kg category. Priya`s well-fought performance against China`s Yu Tian in the 60kg final ended in a narrow 3-2 loss, and she settled for a silver.

Later in the day, Neeraj got a silver, losing the men`s 75 kg final to Shavkatjon Boltaev of Uzbekistan. Ishan Kataria also secured silver, losing to Khalimjon Mamasoliev of Uzbekistan in the 90+kg gold medal clash.

Earlier this year, the U-15 and U-17 squads had secured a total of 43 medals at the Asian Championships, with India`s U-15 contingent delivering the highest number of golds in the competition, 11 in total.

Gold medal winners: Nisha (women`s 54 kg), Muskan (women`s 57 kg), Rahul (men`s 75 kg).

Silver medal winners: Vini (women`s 60 kg), Nisha (women`s 65 kg), Aarti (women`s 75 kg), Kritika (women`s 80 kg), Prachi (women`s 80+ kg), Mausam (women`s 65 kg), Hemant (men`s 90 kg).

Bronze medal winners: Yakshika (women`s 51 kg), Akansha (women`s 70 kg), Shivam (men`s 55 kg), and Gaurav (men`s 85 kg).
