Olympic champion Arshad Nadeem suffered a shock exit at the World Athletics Championships 2025. Competing in the men’s javelin final on Thursday, September 18, the Pakistani star finished outside the top eight and missed out on the fifth attempt. Nadeem, who once stunned the world with a monumental 92.97-metre throw in the Paris Olympics last year, could only reach 82.75 metres this time.
Nadeem looked off-colour right from the qualifying stage. His first two throws fell well below his usual standards at 76.99m and 74.17m, before he scraped through to the final with a best effort of 84.85m on his third attempt. In the final, however, the Pakistani star appeared far from his best and failed to reproduce the form that earned him Olympic and Commonwealth titles.
