Bryce Andrades scored the all-important winner as St Thomas (Vasai) beat Divine Mercy (Bhayandar) in a first-round match of the 45th Willingdon Catholic Gymkhana rink football tournament at the WCG’s tennis courts on Thursday. The Vasai outfit won 1-0.
In another match, Our Lady of Fatima (Vasai) beat Our Lady of Health (Versova) ‘B’ 5-2. Craig Daniel and Seaan D’Souza netted a brace each for the Vasai side while Austin D’Sa added one goal to the tally. For Our Lady of Health, Rohit Kanojia and Mahesh Kadam scored a goal each.
Also, Our Lady of Fatima (Vidyavihar) beat St Joseph’s (Juhu) ‘B’ 3-2 with Sagar Bhangre scoring twice and Edwin Ayinikar adding one goal for victors.
