Aharwal in Haryana is playing for power in belt

A The man in a gray safari suit, who does not want to take a name, rests on a couch in a visiting room at Haryana Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir’s residence in Gurugram’s citizen lines. It is an old part of the suburb of Delhi with a government office and low -rise buildings. Across the National Highway 48, the artery that connects Delhi to Gurugram, is bright high-growing corporate offices and gates condominium.

Beseptaild Man says, “Rao Narbir and Indrajit Singh are only two months rich leaders in Haryana. In any village in South Haryana, there are two groups between Alir, each, each is supporting.” He is waiting for the audience with Narbir.

On the wall behind the couch, 64-year-old, Narbir’s picture of a big life is hanging, and Union Home Minister Amit Shah talks to each other with each other. A collage on the opposite wall captures the political journey of Narbir’s family from the days of independence.

75 -year -old Gurugram MP Rao Inderjit Singh is referred to as ‘Raja Ji’ due to his royal roots, who is the Union Minister of State for the plan. Indrajit Rewari is a descendant of Raja Rao Tula Ram, who is one of the first war leaders in Haryana in 1857. Putting his political legacy forward, his daughter and Haryana Health Minister Arti Singh Rao are the first MLA of Atteli.

Both Narbir and Indrajit are part of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which is in power in both the Center and Haryana. Since the assembly elections in October 2024, however, two AHIR leaders of the BJP have indirectly excavated against each other, publicly broadcast their differences, and took each other in the local municipal election to claim their political domination. It has given air to a political tug of war.

Ahai (Yadav), who claims to be associated with the mythological Yadu dynasty, is considered a part of Lord Krishna, is classified as a backward class in Haryana. They include more than 5% of Haryana voters, but this rustic-agricultural community has considerable political impact.

While living in the Gurugram-Overri-Mahendragarh region, which is referred to as the Ahwarral belt, Yadav is beaten by the Jats and Scheduled Castes, including more than one third of the voters in the agricultural state simultaneously. However, community leaders say Ahirs have voted for the BJP since 2014, contributing to the party’s record in the assembly elections three consecutive wins.

Party-hopping

Indrajit left the Congress just before the 2014 Lok Sabha poll to join the BJP, turning the tide in favor of the party in Haryana. Political analysts believe that there were other factors who naked Ahras towards the BJP: deep roots and non-Jat division, traditional Congress voters of Jats, and Hindutva-Pacification in the region is the growing influence of the Rashtria Rashtria Swayamsavak Sangh, which is the limit of the meyu Muslim-domineated Nuh.

BJP won 47 seats in the 90-member assembly in 2014, to form its first full-fledged government. Winning all 11 constituencies, he had a clean sweep in the Alirwal belt. In 2019, the party’s tally went below eight. In the 2024 assembly poll, the BJP crossed the 45-seat majority mark, resulting in anti-opposing and infiltration, won 10 seats in the Alirwal region.

Narbir’s return as a minister in the state cabinet, after being denied the BJP ticket for the 2019 pole, revived the political rivalry between him and Indrajit.

Active in Haryana politics for five decades, Indrajit has organized separate departments as Union Minister of State in three Prime Minister Narendra Modi-Left governments at the Center since 2014, besides being Foreign Minister and Foreign Minister in United Progressive Alliance governments.

His father, Rao Birender Singh served in the army from 1942 to 1947 and became the first non-Congress Chief Minister of Haryana in March 1967, when the state was excluded from Punjab. On 23 September 1978, Birender merged his huge Haryana Party with the Congress at the behest of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

Before joining the BJP, Narbir was also with the Haryana Vikas Party and did a brief tenure with the Congress. He has been an MLA four times in four decades in his political career, and has been a minister every time.

Relative to Indrajit, Narbir also belongs to an impressive political background family. His grandfather, Rao Mohar Singh, a law graduate, became a member of the Legislative Council of undivided Punjab in 1944 and Pratap Singh remained an MLA in 1958 as Chief Parliamentary Secretary in the government of Keron. Mohar was also the founder of Alir Education Board, Rewari, who now has a network of educational institutions across North India. Narbir’s father, Rao Mahabhir Singh also served as an MLA in Haryana in 1967, 1968 and 1972. Although the political rivalry between the two Alir families is for the creation of Haryana, Narbir and Indrajit made their first political face to face in 1987. While contesting his first election from Jatusana Assembly Constituency as a part of Lok Dal, 26 -year -old Narbir defeated 9,000 candidates about Indigit, then a Congress.

The 65-year-old Gurugram-based leader, who has worked closely with both Singh and Narbir, says, “Both have their own strong support base of the workers who walk with them because they switch the loyalty. Nor is it dependent on the party’s vote bank and both have kept their interests on the party. They will not support their workers, but they never want to grow politically.”

‘Resort Politics’

Political rivalry between the two Ali leaders was a prominent in the municipal elections in February this year. Both threw their weight behind rival candidates for the post of mayor. The BJP won nine of the 10 mayor positions, but its Jugornot was stopped in its own stronghold, Ahirwal belt, with the only disadvantage, which was in the 2020 Manesar Municipal Corporation.

While Indrajit supported Indrajit Yadav, who contested as an independent, Narbir and the BJP’s state leadership supported Sundarla Sarpanch. Yadav won the pole by 2,293 votes.

Two months ago, elections for the posts of Senior Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayor in Manesar Municipal Corporation again turned into a political dominance fight between the two leaders. Narbir flew a dozen councilors, including some independents, for a resort in Nepal, to keep his herd together on August 5, among the factional rivalry within the party.

Round to go to him, both his candidates won and the rival factions stayed away from the election.

Ram Kumar Yadav, a supporter of Indrajit, in his native Rampura village in Rewari, says, “Raja ji” and his family have been synonymous with Ahirwal’s politics for centuries. While Narbir can struggle to win his own assembly constituency, ‘Rao Saheb said in any assembly.

On the other hand, Indrajit’s personal assistant, Naresh Sharma said about his employer, “He is the highest leader in Haryana today. None of his contemporaries, not even former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, has won four consecutive terms to the Lok Sabha.”

Competitioning claims made by Indrajit’s supporters, people associated with Narbir say that his leaders, unlike his opponent, appeal extensively and take everyone along. ,The logs of Chhattisgarh Jat are unique. Woh ek community Cake Leader Nahi haiRao Inderjit Lagatar Satta Mein Rahe, Jabki Rao Narbir Karib Paches Sala Satta S Dor Rahe, This is just a dono Pisces (People from all 36 communities are his followers. He is not the leader of the same community. Rao Indrajit has always been in power, while Rao Narbir remained out of power for 25 years. This is the only difference between the two), “Brahma Yadav, a personal assistant to Narbir.

A third dimension

Abe Singh Yadav is the first generation politician, one of the BJP leaders and one other people of bureaucrats and politicians. Septuagenian is a former Haryana minister who lost the seat of Nangal Chaudhary Assembly for Congress’ Manju Chaudhary last year. In August, he posted a conspiracy by Indrajit by Indrajit after his defeat on X. He posted a news report in which a project was approved to arrest Indrajit in the villages of South Haryana. With clipping, Abe said: “Taking credit for the work done by others seems like a weakness.” He also criticized his own party: “Not only Nangal Chaudhary MLA Manju Chaudhary welcomed the dinner (hosted by Indrajit), but was also welcomed to the Bharatiya Janata Party …”

On podcast, two weeks ago, Gurukul of politics, Abe, while talking about his stressful relations with Indrajit, said that the senior Ahai supported him in his first assembly election from Nangal Chaudhary seat in 2014, who addressed a rally in support of him and already appeared for his nomination papers, he asked him to appear for his nomination.

Indrajit spoke against his party on several occasions, including criticizing Haryana CM Manohar Lal for two words on public platforms. He has voiced his claim for CM’s post, saying that Aharwal Belt has contributed significantly to BJP’s victory.

A dozen MLAs from the Congress, one of which attended a dinner hosting at the Chandigarh residence of his daughter, recently created a stir in the state politics. According to BJP’s internal sources, the party knows the importance of Indrajit for its existence in the Ahaharwal belt. “BJP, after his former state president Ram Bilas Sharma denied the ticket of a leader of South Haryana, a leading South Haryana leader, is planning to jointly combat Rao Inderjit Singh with Rao Narbir and Abe Singh Yadav, with both Manohar Lal’s close confidant. Hopefully, expecting to revive themselves in the Aqirwal belt, Congress has made a former MLA and Ahair Narendra Singh in a declaration made on 29 September. Has appointed as the Speaker.

Party spokesperson Ved Prakash Vidoi says, “It is after five decades that the party has appointed an AHIR leader as the state president. Before Bhupinder Singh Hooda took over the reins of the Congress in Haryana in 2005, Ahai was a traditional Congress voter.” She says that in the late 70s, with Indrajit and her daughter Aarti is still looking for her legs in politics, the Congress expected its performance.
