Aneet Padda and Ahaan Panday made their big-screen debut with the film Saiyaara in July this year. The romantic musical, directed by Mohit Suri, proved to be a blockbuster and one of the biggest hits led by newcomers. The film also helped Aneet and Ahaan gain a massive fan following. There were also rumours of the two dating in real life. Now, filmmaker Karan Johar has subtly hinted at their offscreen equation.
Karan Johar calls Aneet-Ahaan IT couple
On Sani Mirza`s new podcast, Karan Johar referred to Aneet and Ahaan as the new “IT couple” of the film industry. During one segment, Sania asked KJo who according to him can be Bollywood’s next ‘it couple’. Hearing this, Karan replied, “Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda.” When Sania asked, “Next, is it?,” KJo smiled before his expression changed, and went on to say, “Oh! Well, they are yet not official so if they are going to be. I don’t know if they are, cause I haven’t checked.” So, did Karan just confirm Ahaan and Aneet’s real life romance?
Mohit reveals conversation with Karan Johar
The film’s box office performance and audience reception exceeded expectations. Recently, Mohit Suri spoke about the impact of the film’s success and what it meant for Bollywood as a whole.
Speaking at FICCI Frames a while ago, Mohit Suri recalled his conversation with Karan Johar after the release of Saiyaara. “I met Karan Johar after the film released, and he said, ‘Thank you for the film you made.’ Of late, we’ve been dividing the world of entertainment into South directors and movies. I don’t know why we do that. I personally am a fan of a lot of them. But all of them called when they saw the film, saying that they really liked it,” he shared.
The director further mentioned Karan’s observation about the film’s success and its impact on the industry. “Karan pointed out that it has been years since we’ve been the ones calling them up to praise their films. But this time, they were the ones calling us. That’s what Bollywood films were known for,” he said.
Released on 18 July under the Yash Raj Films banner, Saiyaara has achieved a remarkable worldwide collection of R 570.67 crore, cementing both young stars as Bollywood’s newest sensations.
