Sheizaan Khan on Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan: Every day on set feels like home

Actor Sheizaan Khan looks back at the medium that has shaped him as an artist and grounded him as a human being. For him, television isn’t just an industry, it is a journey that rebuilt him, disciplined him and gave him a connection with millions of families across the country.

“Television has held me during the hardest phases of my life,” Sheizaan says with honesty. “It taught me that no matter what you’re going through personally, the moment the camera rolls, you show up with truth. TV has given me stability, purpose and a sense of belonging. I’ve discovered my own strength because of this medium.”

Sheizaan Khan talks about TV power

He believes television’s power lies in its emotional presence. “When a show comes into someone’s home every evening, it becomes part of their routine. They laugh with the characters, cry with them, and heal with them. Not many mediums create that kind of intimacy. TV is like a companion always there, always familiar.”

Even with OTT changing habits, Sheizaan feels television continues to rule the emotional landscape. “OTT gives you creativity and speed, no doubt. But television gives you a connection. When you play a character every single day, you truly live it. You understand its layers, its flaws, its heart. Television shapes you as a performer in ways nothing else can.”

Sheizan is currently winning appreciation in Ravie Dubey and Sargun Mehta’s Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan, a show that beautifully showcases devotion, relationships and the strength of women.

“This show came into my life at the perfect time,” he says. “It’s already on air, and the love we’re getting is overwhelming. Working with Ravie sir and Sargun ma’am feels special because they approach television with so much sincerity. They understand emotions, they respect their actors, and they tell stories that are rooted in Indian soil. That kind of leadership inspires you automatically.”

Talking about being part of the show, Sheizan adds, “Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan has purity in its writing. The characters feel real. The world feels familiar like something you’ve grown up around. Every day on set feels like home. When a project has this kind of soul, you feel grateful to be chosen for it.”

Reflecting on his emotional bond with the medium, he shares, “There were times in my life when work reminded me of who I am and what I am capable of. Television gave me direction when I needed it the most. It gave me a second life. That’s why I will always honour this medium because it healed me, shaped me and continues to give me new beginnings.”

As he continues his journey with renewed strength, Sheizaan believes television’s core will always remain unchanged. “Trends will shift, technology will evolve, but the heartbeat of television is emotion. As long as people want comfort, connection and stories that feel like home, TV will always stay alive.”
