Have you heard? Nawazuddin Siddiqui reacts to rumours of rift with Irrfan Khan

No attitude, no problem

Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui recently opened up about the long-standing rumour of a rift with his The Lunchbox (2013) co-star, the late Irrfan Khan. In an interaction with Hindi Rush, Nawazuddin said that the supposed tension between the two of them was “just news” that appeared and he has no clue why. He added, “I don’t think everything reported in the news is the truth. Also because of the film’s shoestring budget, we couldn’t spend time on such useless things.” Remembering Irrfan, the actor got emotional and said, “Irrfan bhai was my senior, and we shared a very long association. Even when he was preparing for his Hollywood films, I would be with him all the time. I’d read lines with him, give him cues, just so he could rehearse. His aashirvaad [blessing] has always been there. I saw him as an older brother.” The two have also acted together in Paan Singh Tomar (2012), and New York (2009).

Pulling off an all nighter

Amitabh Bachchan

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has yet again proved that he is a workaholic. The actor, who recently celebrated his 83rd birthday (October 11), took to his blog on Tumblr, where he usually engages with fans, and shared that he has been working for long hours, even stretching past the whole night. In his latest blog update, Bachchan admitted, “Kept working till 5.30 in the morning, and just forgot there was important blog work and responses to give. So apologies and regrets. But regret never for the Ef [extended family].” In a previous post, Bachchan had opened up about how he is challenging his physical limits. He wrote, “Images and feelings of the past days still linger and the mind and body is unresponsive to the routine of work. But they keep saying that ‘the show must go on’. Whoever said this may have meant good and with some positivity, but they that suffer, bear the brunt of the sadness that still remains to be filtered.”

Stay loud and proud

Filmmaker Karan Johar’s Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (K3G) completed 24 years on Sunday (December 14). Starring Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Hrithik Roshan, and Kareena Kapoor Khan, the film went on to become a cult classic, a mega success at the box-office, earning around R136 crore worldwide. Marking the milestone, Kajol shared a nostalgic Instagram post, offering advice to girls who related to her character from the film. “To all the Anjalis out there, keep being loud and proud! Rahul is out there somewhere but he might be late because of traffic,” she wrote.

No gore please

Madhuri Dixit Nene

Actor Madhuri Dixit Nene says she consciously avoided shock value while portraying a serial killer in her upcoming web series Mrs Deshpande, choosing emotional depth over graphic violence. Speaking to PTI, Madhuri said, “It’s not about gore or killings, it’s about the emotion, the story, and what has happened with her.” Directed by Nagesh Kukunoor, the six-episode psychological thriller features her in a raw, de-glam avatar. The actor admitted she was initially surprised by the role but was drawn to its layered narrative. “She seems ordinary, but there’s so much more,” she said. Mrs Deshpande is adapted from the French series La Mante (2017).
